a women that works with my girlfriend was talking with her the other day. she has a son that is in the airforce and now lives in seattle where he is stationed. she asked my girlfriend if i played guitar. she responded that im more of a bass player but do a little on the guitar.
wrapping up the story a bit: her son was a guitar player and he told her to get rid of all his gear. she was going to drop it off at salvation army, but my girlfriend told her I could put some use to it.
I got a Fender Champ 30 and a Cry Baby wah pedal.
nothing fancy, but free is free.
When I picked it up I thanked her, and got a her a coffee for her kindness, not much but she was happy. She let me know that if she finds anything else that I can have it. She has no use for that stuff and doesnt know how to sell it. She said I could keep it, sell it, or give it away but I can have what I want.
I may have just tapped into a mini gold mine. This lady is awesome, very nice. I really didnt expect her to do this. If I do end up selling anything I dont want, I may just give her the money from it.
Thought Id share my eventful Sunday.
Thanks for reading,

Hasn't played for years though. He asked me if I wanted to borrow his bass, which I declined - I have young boys and the house can get rowdy at times. Kept talking about his Gibson Les Paul.
Well, he just showed up with it one day. We sat around and played tunes back and forth, jammin and goofing off.
When it came time to leave, he said he was leaving it with me, knowing it would see play time

Then the original person who had given it to the young friend played it and demanded it back ... sad, sad world. |

Music Man Stingray 4 H
Lakland Skyline 55-01
Furman PL-Plus
Line 6 Bass Pod Pro
Sunn 1200s
Gallien-Krueger 400RB
Schroeder 410
Carvin V210T
Various other accessories: Cables, rack cases, caster boards, guitar cases, etc.
I think I've got you guys beat, although I'm not sure if that's a good thing... At the very least, being given this nice of gear really motivated me to learn as much as I could and become the bassist I am today. I don't care if people call me spoiled, although I know I am(as far as bass gear goes) but I am extremely grateful that My Uncle did this for me.

Or rather, he died and I took all of his guitar and bass gear because I wanted to use it to pay homage to him. He was my biggest inspiration for getting into music, afterall.
One of these days, I'll re-work one of his songs and play it live. He never got the satisfaction of doing that.
