The thing I love the most about the Manring parody is how dead on the parody playing is with Manrings actually finger movements. A lot of the shred videos just don't match real well (ie dubbed Japanese films), but the Manring one is perfect. My favorite parts though are the dirty pots and "shoddy equipment" noise. Whomever did this one is a freakin' genius.

My all time favorite Shreds vid.
I'm wiping the tears from my eyes as I type.

That's exactly what I thought too. Even the facial expressions matched the notes. Funniest one I've ever seen.

Here's the crappy one.

Don't feel bad about missing the point. My wife missed it too when she first saw it. I had to explain it to her too.

OK, see? I had only seen the crappy one, and I'd never heard of this guy. So I thought that he just sucked or was a comedian or something. (Though it seemed like a rare room that would enjoy watching you play crappy solo for like 10 minutes.)

But - um - Michael Manring effing rocks! He is basically Jaco if Jaco hadn't been Jaco. He kind of looks like Kenny G., which is dismaying. But he also looks like Geddy, so. Also he rocks.

I'll watch the parody again, only this time I will get it.
