Funny flame war on craigslist (DC)

Sign in to disble this ad
The story, as well as I can figure:

It started when someone posted an ad offering lessons on "drums and tuned percussion instruments (vibes, marimba, etc.)" Someone got their panties all bunched up thinking this implies regular drums are not tuned, and called the original poster all kinds of names and questioned her intelligence. Several other people then posted, telling the second poster to get a life, of course drums are tuned.

Does it end there? Heck no. A few more rounds of this followed, then someone posted something like "all you drummers please take your debate / pissing contest elsewhere and let the real musicians use this forum". Now most of the posts on the forum are either drummers ranting about how they are real musicians, or people fed up with the whole thing telling the drummers to STFU.

Make some popcorn.

When somebody flames someone else on Craigslist just report it and the offending post will be removed.

The CL here in Boston seems to have one troll who thinks it's his appointed duty to harass and/or flag anyone offering lessons, paid jams, or anyone he thinks post too much, or he doesn't like. I've taken to flagging any of his posts.

Knew what he meant... May have been more accurate to have said "pitched" percussion. Or, on the other hand: Who cares?
