Erm... I need a place to manage my obsessions. I probably won't put everything here... that's just infinite bumping. I'll have $2000 that I'm willing to spend on myself next birthday

MB LM III and a Ampeg SVT-B410 HLF cab? Sounds like a nice combo, and Bass Central has the sales...

Fretless Warwick Corvette... Sexy beast it is. I've tried them three times. Amazing.

Maybe a new Spector? They have greaaat tone and feel perfect in my hands. What to do, what to do.

Look at used stuff. $2000 would go pretty far on used.

MB LM II's are going to be cheap on the used market soon. Going used there might enable you to spend a little more on the bass.

Whatever you get ,congrats on getting some better gear.

The title of this thread reminds me of... yeah, you know what... never mind...

+1 to used gear. There's ridiculous sales going on in the classifieds right now. Had I more money, I'd probably have another 2/3 basses and a second/third amp by now.

Of course!! Used is THE way to go. I'm considering Epiphani instead after reading your comments though randomly... Maybe even Hartke.

Ooo! I know. Post your random "I GOTTA HAVE IT" impulses here... maybe after posting them you won't go out and spend your child's college money

(Fyi TheMutt, that was the way I was going )

Don't buy Hartke. Unless you want to buy my old 3500 head that almost works.

Eh, as far as Hartke goes, I was only considering that because of the bit of simplicity.

Almost? How almost?

Sounds, as in "I've tried it?" Or "Some other players like it?"

Be sure you listen so you won't have to sell something you don't like.

The second, even as poor as that looks as I type it now. I've tried them out separately but not together. I'll just try testing stuff out and then go used. Righty-o.

On a slightly related note, Spector all the way. I realize I probably wouldn't make good use of a fretless... -looks over in the corner my defretted bass rests in, littered with dust- Sure, it's a nice bass, but even when I try it, it isn't the same. Neither is a fretted Corvette. Maybe a $$... ah well, as I said, Euro Spector.

This is one of those "what's worse, having matches and no cigarette, or having a cigarette and no matches" questions.
Since you have an okay bass and little to no ampage, I think I'd be leaning towards getting a decent amp set up first.

Oh no! I'd figured that much out myself. Currently my main focus is (or should be...) the amp. I can actually live with my bass for some time, I'm just gazing at all the lovely basses... There's no drool emote.

Well, hell, then... go crazy. $2000 bux on used equipment is a lot. Or, spend $750-800 on an amp and use the rest for hookers and blow.
