Ghetto Whammy Bar

Sign in to disble this ad
well a while back this whammy bar thing broke off of my guitar hero controller. i was playing with it today and was trying to find a way to rig it to my old Dean Edge 9. Well it was pretty easy actually, i just took it and put it through one of the end "ball thingies" at the end of my strings (i currently have rotosounds on it). it only works for the string you put it on and when you push it down it goes from a low pitch to a high pitch. it works better than just bending the strings because you have muchb more leverage. i decided to do some squealies on it (without pick) and it's actually pretty cool. idk if anyone else finds this funny or if i'm alone here.

Sounds like it may be putting a butt-load of pressure on the bridge saddles doing it that way with no spring mechanism to soften the torture.

He wasn't talking about the springs on the saddle screws. All bass bridges have those. They really serve no purpose other than the hold the saddles in place when there are no strings on.

He was talking about the tension springs on dedicated tremolos.
