A Gig Milestone - Growth As A Musician.

Saturday afternoon, I, for the first time, played an entire gig on the guitar. No bass to be found anywhere. No Crutch. No safety wheels. No net under the tightrope! Though on many of the songs I played the parts were more resembling of bass lines than guitar bits, I played more than a few chords (sloppily), and, with the exception of one song, all songs were played with a pick. I had never felt comfortable using a pick. Well, I guess that’s not the case anymore. Will be incorporating the new-found skill into my bass playing.

I sang too. But that’s nothing unusual. When I get on stage, just try to shut me up.

PS. Oh, I'm really really excited. We are doing an insanely killer version of “Eleanore Rigby”. My band Acoustic Highway tears the song a new one. Probably the best vocal work we’ve ever done. We will be recording it soon, and will post it A.S.A.P.

I play a bit of guitar, too. My guitarist thinks it's funny how I usually ignore the highest two strings.

I was over at his house with another of our friends. Usually he would be doodling on the acoustic guitar my guitarist has hanging on his wall, but this time he was not, as it was missing the high E and the high B strings. I asked him to hand me the guitar, and he said "Well, it's missing a couple strings."

I responded "That's okay, it has all the important ones."
