Gig with Phil Woods tomorrow

I'm playing for a benefit tomorrow night in Wilkes-Barre with Phil Woods. It's at the Robert M. Sides music store on Route 309. The info is at www.sidesmusicfair.com. I'd cut and paste here, but I'm posting from my school PC in my office and the site is blocked by the content filter since there's also a poker tournament as part of the benefit. Phil Woods is the guest artist, so I'm pretty stoked to be asked to play with someone of his caliber.

Good luck, man. Do us proud!

The gig went really well, though the crowd wasn't as large as I'd thought, probably because it was at a music store and not a concert venue, but it was a blast to play with someone of Phil's caliber. The band was made up of mostly band directors (I was the only chorus director in the group). We rehearsed the charts for 2 hours, then Phil showed up and we did the gig. I didn't get the final total for what we raised yet, but it seemed to be a decent amount.

For my first jazz gig in quite some time, I was very pleased with how I played. Phil was just amazing on the sax.
