So I work as a bouncer in this bar/restaurant. Pretty mellow place...families with little kids eat there pretty regularly (including tonight). On some Saturdays, a local honkey-tonk band plays (much too loudly). Tonight, about 3/4 of the way through their last set, a girl who is dancing with the band pulls her dress off halfway through a song and starts dancing around in just her undies and bra. Of course, we have to go and get her to put it back on (but neither myself nor the bartender notice for a couple of minutes as our attention is elsewhere). After the show, I hear from the drummer that apparently she had unhooked her bra and was looking back at the bassist for permission, to which he shook his head. The bouncer in me is thankful...bad enough that she took her dress off. But I have to give the guy props for restraining himself nonetheless. |

This gal came up and lifted her shirt while I was singing. No bra. A few minutes later she pulls her pants down. I am all for nakidity at a gig but not when you have little kids in the audience.

He stopped, and asked her why she would disrespect herself by doing something like that, and please keep her shirt on. As much as I like to see topless girls, it was refreshing to see someone ask a girl to please have some self-respect. A bra was also thrown onstage, and was immediately returned, though probably not to the original owner. Very cool.

But when I'm working and it's coming up on 1am and I'm getting tired and already old, I mostly just want everything to go smoothly so I can close up and go home. Plus, I'd hate to have to go as a witness on behalf of my employer against a girl who couldn't keep her clothes on because someone in the audience was genuinely offended. I don't really think that people should be offended -- it's something we're too touchy about as a culture -- but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people are, and I have to deal with them even after she puts her clothes back on. |

You wouldn't look twice if I was the pizza boy
You ain't got to flash me your ass and tits
I'd rather fantasize that you're a rap advocate"
That's some lyrics off their 2007 "Strictly Leakage" album. I'm still bummed I missed that show. |

This particular night I wore the "Boobies make me smile" shirt. So, late into the second set there was an older lady drinking & dancing on my side of the stage giving me the look. She tried to lift her top to make me smile but every time she tried she'd stagger back, nearly fall down & spill her drink.
