We've got a private party to play tonight, so I'm taking my new Emperor plus DB750/GS410 rig. The Sadowsky 5-24 is going as a backup, along with my WWU, just in case. I'll report back tomorrow.

Whoa. I played the Sadowsky in the first set, and it sounded great. Second set, out came the Fodera, and it's like it was made for that rig. Rich and full, but could get quite a bit of growl on the bridge pickup. Very versatile. I could roll it back to the bridge for aggressive mid-rich bass in songs like Barracuda, then fill up the bottom for some low Cs I use in Sister Christian, by rolling it to favor the neck. It plays like a dream.

The Telefunkens in the amp did a lot to tighten it up, but when I needed that little extra push over the cliff, I switched on the bass boost, which really filled out the bottom without going "pillowy" on me. I'm assuming the Telefunken in V2 was responsible for that.

We're playing the Harley Davidson dealership next weekend, but I think the Fodera will stay home for that one. Probably take a couple Fenders ... RBV and Am Deluxe Jazz FMT V. For all you guys in San Diego, it's the one over on Kearny Mesa Road, from noon to 2. Be there.

Congratulations on a spectacular Fodera!

I know you secretly don't like that Fodera. You should donate it to a charity. I have one in mind:

"Hey! I need a f*****g Fodera! Box 5023198"

Here's the problem, Mike. It turns out I like playing that Fodera more than any other bass. But I can't see my way clear to take it to this Harley Davidson gig. In fact, I don't know how many gigs I'd feel comfortable taking it to, so I might as well get rid of it. What's the address of this HINAFF charity?

Tell you what bro. Ill stop by, I work for said charity and I can print you out a donation receipt for tax purposes. Also... Foderas are just too nice to have yanno. You need something manageable....like an SX or a Eko.
