God that was a lame hunting joke.

Really, though, I've been asked about my Ibby gigbag, whether I was toting a gun or a guitar around.

Sort of scary to think someone might try it.

Those plastic molded rifle cases with foam inside , [trace your bass , cut the foam , you're all set ] are cheaper than actual cases. Just make sure you cover the case with music related stickers , this is the embarrassing planet after all.

I played a fill in gig with a band who's guitar player had a compound bow case that he'd modded to hold his guitar.

I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about that.

Me too, only the case in question was a run of the mill SKB rectangular plastic hardshell

One of those times it was a cop asking.......

Like it or not there are plenty of well-heeled hunters who travel with their BigBuck (pun intended) rifles or shotguns in hardshell cases. They buy 'em for the same reasons bass players do - to protect the contents from rough handling
