Great gig story

I've been gigging in a friends band off and on for about a year now. I started out as a fill in bassist, and have sort of acquired the main seat there since their other bass player moved out of town, which is ok, except it's pretty much a side project for me and i'm not super excited about the music, although we have fun playing and there is a great drummer. They don't gig very much, so it's not too big of a deal.

We had two gigs last Thursday, one opening up for a bigger band at a free festival concert series thing, which went really well, and another that night at the local saloon/theater. We made good money and got set up with rooms and everything, so that part was great. The first set was well rehearsed, and we played well and had a good response.

The second gig was pretty loose, we didn't have enough material really prepped so we jammed a bit and ended up playing some of our material from the earlier set, which was ok. Everyone was so buzzed at that point it really didn't matter, the dance floor was packed pretty much all night, and it was relatively easy to keep them happy. Somewhere during the second set I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye and peeked backstage through some curtains. There is this very sexy redhead poking around through the percussion and costumes piled up there, and she turns around to see me looking at her. She grinned mischievously and proceeded to get pretty risque, lifting her skirt and flaunting her goods (she did have panties on!), and doing a little booty shaking and sexy dancing, all for my solitary eyes. I'm fairly shocked at this point, this is totally out of the blue and a bit wild, but i'm pretty much eating up every moment of it, while trying not to lose track of the song. She then proceeded to put on some fairy wings and a wig and danced out on to the stage, feeling up the various members of our group and generally being a hot little vixen. It was ridiculous! She was pretty saucy, but the whole thing was cool, she stayed respectful and did her thing, we played the song for a long time and she slid out the back, and down to the dance floor while getting some well earned applause.

This marks a first for me in my performance career, and who knows if that will ever happen again. I kind of hope so! =) Meanwhile the little private dance I got backstage while playing was one of my favorite all time gig moments so far.

Please tell me you chased her around for the rest of the night, ending up in a wild romantic tryst. PLEASE.

That's what I love about playing live... There's always the possibility of some surprise that turns out really good.

The first one I remember of that was when I was in my first band. I was a sophmore in HS in a band with a senior and a couple of guys in college. At a big, packed party, we started playing a song I wrote.. A bunch of them 'popular' girls got up and started dancing to us. I was sold.

Looking back, this happened in the first set, and during break I was not on it enough to go flirt with her. I saw her out front smoking with the rest of the bar, which isn't my favorite place to hang out. Unfortunately she didn't stay till' the end of the set to give me another chance.

This is pretty much the story of my life, i'm almost never assertive enough to meet ladies with a quickness. I don't know if I ever will be, but I do know i'll have plenty of more chances to practice.

I wouldn't worry about it, she probably picked up some poor shlep and killed him later that night.

About the only thing you can tell yourself.

Much better than my story dude lol,

My old band booked a gig at a local tavern from 9-2 (played mostly originals) and around 11:30 a 60 something year old woman started frolicking through the dance floor. We knew most of the people at the bar, and the place is usually pretty barren, but this one was a bit of an oddball (no bra needed apparently) and decided she would light up the dance floor solo. We almost butchered the remainder of the song trying not to laugh. She's been referred to as the "droopy groopy" ever since lol.

Haha after our last gig this chick (smokin' hot) was all over us. She seemed more interested in me than the rest of the group. Every time she walked by me she grabbed my ass:P haha. After a little bit I told her that I have a girlfriend and she left me alone. But the drummer got her. Number an made a fool of himself trying to get nudies out of her haha. We're playing at that venue again at the end of the month so he may get another shot at her:P
