The great professional "rookie" move!!

SO as a bass player of 25 yrs, lets just say...I know what the hell I'm doing...
I have a post on here about our guitar player killing the 3rd set after finding out we added a new lead player...anyway..this was the funny part before the gig went to hell.
Setup..this was a one nighter, so I just bring my rack without a cab. and patch in to the PA..makes my night easier at load-out.
Get line checks...nothing is coming out for the bass...I start with the usual stuff, checking cables, pedals, getting into panic mode I change the battery in bass...still nothing. Now I'm freaking!! WE go ahead with mic checks, run through a song or two...afterward's I'm in "tech mode" I'm taking apart all cable patches to look at the connections, pedal board....nothing..finally, my singer looks at me and says "is your amp on?" me- "dude I ain't that stupid" .....guess what I WAS that stupid.....the rack was powered, but the damn amp was off
SO I don't feel so bad..lets here your DOH moments!!!

Before I bought a trailer for my PA and other gear I used to have to run home all the time for crap I forgot. It was the worst!

Getting upset that my in-ears weren't working...when asked if I turned it on I said "of course." next question, are they turned up on your pack?


Best one for one of my buddies was we were in the middle of a show in front of around 2500 people & his guitar stops working. He has no guitar for two songs...then all of the sudden he looks down and his volume pedal is heel down.
