It's all BS and he knows it, but every time he checks his email he's finding us (very seriously) acting like we're replacing him, and (very seriously) pretending to be shocked and embarrassed that we included him in the emails.
So I just wrote him a very serious email that we're unfortunately going in a different direction, and we had a lot of good times, and hopefully we can still be friends. Here's the audition video of the new guy, and when you see it, WOW, this kid has skills. It was a no brainer for us. "Of course, it's hard to say good bye to a friend, but we prefer to think of it as "getting a new drummer who doesn't go on vacation all the @#$%ing time"."
And then I linked the video.
That'll teach him to go on vacation. Jerk.

Posted it to my Facebook profile for my friends to have a good laugh. What I like the most is the tambourine treatment after finding it in the middle of the messed up drum kit. |

Never before have I seen a drummer so willing to risk major bodily injury simply for the free entertainment of an online audience. Bravo! |
