recently my band finished our new cd, and during the mixing we found that a guitar track I had laid while showing the g**tarist was accidently left in the final mix. When I told him had laughed and said that it was pretty cool, and he didn't have a problem. I then jokingly told him if he wanted he could lay a bass track on the next album, to which he responded by saying......
"Dude I can't play bass, let alone like you."
I'm not really that good, but it was nice to hear a g**tarist admidt that for once.

He also told me I "play the **** out of the bass" and that I "practically play lead bass coz I am all over the fretboard". Pity it didn't last. He tore the band a new butt hole to bring in eye candy for a singer, but the compliments were great while they lasted

Ahhhh, if only there were more like him.

"Wish our bassist was as good as you!"
"Get up on stage and show 'em how a bass is meant to be played!"

Very Respected drummer is running the show (gets paid royalties for drumtracks you hear on the radio). I walk in, use the can, when i come out half the bar is chanting my name. I get onstage and use borrowed gear to play a few songs for the crowd. I start to head offstage to let someone else on and the drummer shouts through the p.a. "If you get offstage, we are done for the night." it was 8:45 or so. @ 1 he lets me off and closes the session. He actually told other, better bassists to take a hike. I was very flattered and a little uncomfortable, but mostly flattered
All The key players kicked ass that night as well, the planets aligned or something. |
