Greatest thing ANY g**tarist has ever said!

Sign in to disble this ad
recently my band finished our new cd, and during the mixing we found that a guitar track I had laid while showing the g**tarist was accidently left in the final mix. When I told him had laughed and said that it was pretty cool, and he didn't have a problem. I then jokingly told him if he wanted he could lay a bass track on the next album, to which he responded by saying......

"Dude I can't play bass, let alone like you."

I'm not really that good, but it was nice to hear a g**tarist admidt that for once.

When the guitarist told me that I'm a better musician than him and he's going to study jazz next year and I don't cause I'm now studying economics

After watching a video of a rehearsal, one guitarist told me I was "the complete package". He also told me I "play the **** out of the bass" and that I "practically play lead bass coz I am all over the fretboard". Pity it didn't last. He tore the band a new butt hole to bring in eye candy for a singer, but the compliments were great while they lasted

I was told by one of the guitarists in my old band that I was the one he looked to to keep things solid/together.

The nicest thing...

The nicest thing a guitard ever said to me was "Hey, I'm going to roll off the bass so we don't sound muddy." The second was "How about I mute that E string more so it doesn't mess with the bass?"

Ahhhh, if only there were more like him.

Greatest comment from a guitarist was at a 4-band gig when we where the last band on stage and the guitarist from the former band said these two things:
"Wish our bassist was as good as you!"
"Get up on stage and show 'em how a bass is meant to be played!"

bar owner throws together a jam session. I attend, but dont play. Very Respected drummer is running the show (gets paid royalties for drumtracks you hear on the radio). I walk in, use the can, when i come out half the bar is chanting my name. I get onstage and use borrowed gear to play a few songs for the crowd. I start to head offstage to let someone else on and the drummer shouts through the p.a. "If you get offstage, we are done for the night." it was 8:45 or so. @ 1 he lets me off and closes the session. He actually told other, better bassists to take a hike. I was very flattered and a little uncomfortable, but mostly flattered
All The key players kicked ass that night as well, the planets aligned or something.

My Guitarists - "Dude, turn up your rig, I want to hear ya!"

"You really killed that _____ song" (Gotten that one many times)

"That distortion sounds wicked"

"Kevin we really don't care if you drown us out on Weezer's Hash Pipe"

"Kevin, do Anesthesia and then roll into For Whom the Bell Tolls - you don't have a choice"

I am fortunate to be in this band......
