Guess who I saw at school today?

So I'm going through the lunch line at my high school. I hear a familar voice and I look up and see our new lunch(man).

It's the guitarist from a local beatles tribute band that is somewhat nationally known. I just laughed to myself. I said to him, "I know you." He just looked at me with an expression that said "Don't tell anyone."

I told him that I opened for his band over the summer and he said he remembered me. haha, and now he's cooking my lunch!!! Looks like he's the one opening for me now.

I would say the band name on here, but just incase his bassist goes here I'd rather keep it safe.

Indeed. Perhaps as a high school student you envision your future adulthood with a high-paying profession of prestige. Especially now, with the current economic, health care, and wartime woes, you should realize that there are a lot of us with college educations, who are glad to have jobs that we are over-qualified for. Well, maybe not glad, but thankful.

I don't intend any mean spirit here, and I hope your employment future is satisfying and profitable for you. But be prepared for the possibility that things might not turn out that way.

Just because he is in a working band doesn't mean he does not need a day job. Things like insurance and a retirement fund are important to most people! When you get older maybe you will understand.

i agree with john turner here.

there is nothing wrong with the guy working at your schools cafateria. i think sometimes we lose sight of the fact that a job is a job. he's working hard and trying to earn a living which is more than some people can say.

everyone's gotta pay the mortgage.

this really puts things in perspective in a very good way.
our world in which media teaches us that celebrity is the be all end all,
and that you need facebook so your public can always be aware of what you are up to is just not reality for 99.99% of people.
there's the other side where somebody's got to make the doughnuts,
and clean the toilets.
cool story.
