We all know about 'Guitards' and their need to be heard at all costs! What do we call keyboardists who have the same mindset and even worse, use the dreaded 'left hand' in the nether regions of 'our' sonic space??
Can't they even hear the muddy mushness they're creating when playing with a bassist?? |

I'm lucky enough to play with a couple of awesome keys players, but I do know a keytard or two.

When my band was trying to audition a keys player, we had so many responses to our ads from guys who didn't want to practice, didn't want to invest time, energy or effort into the band. They just wanted to show up at the gig and get paid. Pffft!
We finally gave up and used sequences. Although now we have a great guy (from Canada!) that doesn't have any ego! |

Hey, what's the difference between a keyboard and a coffin?
They keep the corpse on the inside of the coffin (ba-dum, CRASH!)

I never suggest any prgressions or riffs unless I've properly gone through it in my own time becasue my music theory is terrible, my singing voice is worse and I crumble when trying to explain things in group situations. Anyway I blurted out that I've been thinking of a progression that starts on keys and told the keyboard to play 16ths just with one finger :0, As soon as the words left my mouth I just thought what where you thinking! I saw that hate in his eyes, pretty much like th ones I give to the drummer and guitard when they tell me 'just play straight roots for the next 8 bars why I solo'. Needless to say it sounded terrible and got scrapped.
