My friend and I were forming a duo cause our voices harmonizes great. A guy from a local band contacted her (she had us in some band site), and he came to the club to hear us. He was impressed. Thing is we do alot of country, cause it is a country bar. But I know a few others like Benatar and other "non country" songs. He seemed impressed, and wanted us to do a second audition with the rest of the band. He sent us a list songs and told me he wanted me to mainly play bass and sing also from time to time cause they only needed one singer. I told him I am 95% country but can learn. He saw me on youtube apparentaly. The songs I knew 3 vocally and one on bass, but we had like a week to learn like ,10 songs. I crammed and learned what I could. Audition day comes and the only dude who was there was a guy who I think was the orig bass player. He played guitar, the guy we met earlier on drums,me on bass and my friend on vocals. The guy screwed up so much on guitar and then acted like he didnt want to be there. Then they toss in other songs in we werent prepared for.
Needless to say I had fun and wasnt nervous that much...no knee knocking or hands shaking. The drummer still seemed to like us and wanted us back for practice in three days, but with a songlist we had to learn! Like 20 songs!! Then we got emails saying practice canceled they had a few more auditions. I dont think the other guy liked us so we knew we wouldnt get called back.
It was a fun experience tho
