But it turned out ok! We played for a fundraiser at a Unitarian Church. We didn't know it but we were to play in the sanctuary. Instead of people mingling around they had a "sit down" dinner and at 7:00 pm everyone sat in the pews (all lights on and a very sterile enviroment.) I was thinking it was going to be a real suckfest.

This group consists of Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, and drums. We play Bluegrass, Blues, converted rock tunes, Reggae, or whatever. To my suprise the people enjoyed it, clapped for solos, and shouted requests. We got requests like "Johnny B Goode" and "Sweet Home Alabma." They were knocked out because we could do those tunes with that instrumentation. We got fed and got paid--it was a good gig.

Good gig and a good story. It wasn't so long ago when live music accompanied most social events.
