He telepathically suggested the P-bass design in a dream to Leo Fender so he could get an electric bass.
His bass lines forced the US government to fund the moon mission.

"Stay thumpy my friends."

He takes a spare drummer to gigs, in case the first one breaks down

He uses Stratocasters as picks

He is a riddle, inside an enigma, wrapped in a double humbucker

The Mayans left the jungle to follow him on tour, never to finish their calendar

His volume knob goes to 12

He's never asked for more cowbell

When you google funk, his right thumb is pictured

He is the baddest MoFo bassisst in the world.

His bass lines are the only time you will experience sound before sight.

His playing compels guitarists to turn down so they can hear his bass.

Every time he stops playing, a puppy dies.

He taught Jens Ritter and Ron Wickersham only a third of what he knows about bass construction. He still gives private lessions to Stanley Clark. He can pick out good tonewood at a glance, from satellite photos. But he only uses sustainable sources.

His guitarists turn down just to hear him play.

E-sharp doesn't exist, because he said so

When he speaks his voice comes out of your bass cab; even if it’s off

He has been on the cover of Guitar Player Magazine

Cliff Burton didn't die; he gave up and became a gas station attendant in Wyoming after hearing him play

He once called Steve Via wanky and Steve agreed

Tuning forks are calibrated to him

Your bass has cheated on you with him. You've had your suspicions but are OK with it anyway

He has a signature model bass: all of them

He IS the most interesting bass player in the world.

He doesn't audition for bears, bears BEG him to play, and play SLAP BASS at that!

When he goes to set up a bass:
He dresses frets with his bare hands
straightens the neck with a glance without touching it
and it's always perfect after he's done.

He is...
...the most interesting bass player in the world.

His sense of time is used to calibrate equipment at NASA; it's too precise to be used anywhere else

His wang can be played in the manner of a washtub bass (sorry for the mental image), even in polite company

Lars Ulrich asks for him in his monitors

He is the most interesting bass player in the world

The calluses on his fingers are insured for $1 million. Each.
He's played his own arrangement of The Ring Cycle For Solo Bass to critical acclaim.
After hearing him play, guitar players say "That's why I play guitar. Bass takes too much skill."

He is...the most interesting bass player in the world.

He makes metronomes feel inadequate

His low end ruptured the space time continuum and went back through time to punch Beethoven in the eardrum.

His fingers move so precise, adult toy companies have women requesting they make marital aids from them.
