"Hey dude, play something awesome!"

Every time you go to a gig, or a jam with some non-participants attending and you're a halfway decent bassist someone will inevitably walk up to you and say:

"DUDE! Play something crazy/awesome/*fill in the blank*"

What is your go-to song(s)/riffs(s) when you get asked this question?

For chicks, it'll be the slow bit of Orion, it gets them going "oh wow, that's so pretty" every time.

For guys it'll be either Gengis Khan (Iron Maiden) or The Clairvoyant (also Maiden). They sound hard, but in truth are fairly simple.

I never have that happen at a gig or jam.

Pinball Wizard. dead easy to play, but it looks/sounds hard to non-musicians.

It rarely happens but when it does I tell them I can't because I'm just the bass player, then direct them toward the nearest guitarist.

Over the rainbow or Amazing Grace- ideally, on a fretless or DB.

if someone asks in the middle of a set, i look them dead in the eye and play the most atonal unpleasing thing i can think of, usualy endup being root flat 5 octave flat 5 ect. i hate being told to wank in public, i have too many songs that i already do that in.

The bass solo from 'Pictures from home' by Deep Purple, but an extended version. The octave run gets 'em every time.
