I finally gave in and posted an ad on Craigslist looking for someone to play with.

I posted what I wanted to do (funk/dance/synthy/electronic/whatever) and got a few replies. I really wasn't expecting a drummer to reply, but one did! Drummers are sooo hard to find in my city (El Paso,TX).

I'm nervous. The whole first date thing is tonight.
I haven't had one of these jam sessions in a long long time.
Says he's been playing for 20 years. That's a good thing.
We emailed back and forth all last week. He mentioned he wanted to try something like Devo/Talking Heads stuff.
PERFECT!

I'm taking my half stack and pedal board. I'm really excited and hope something comes of it. I'm tired of our stale little scene here.
It's pretty cold here. It's supposed to get down to 29 degrees and we're gonna jamming in a storage unit. I hope my fingers don't freeze up too bad.

Just wanted to share here cause, well, no one else I talk to really can relate or share my excitment.

Awwwwww man have fun and don't be nervous, it's just a jam things may develop from
There, if you get nervous you will play stiff. Good luck and get lose and let the bass just lock in with the drummer and enjoy.

Drummers are easy to keep happy. If he starts getting restless, just show him a shiny object. A feather on a string works sometimes too.

haha! I'll show him my Frazz Dazzler. And I'll let him stomp on it to turn on the blinding LED. I swear that thing can light up a room.
