I want to know why most guitarists have such big egos?? There are millions and millions of guitarist yet they act like they are the only ones on the planet that can play a guitar.....Any ideas???

Anyway... one of the guitarists in the band likes to call me and leave a message that says only "call me Dave" - leaving no reason for his call. I find this annoying. But.... he also hates texting on the phone. So I've gotten so I always text him back. I never call him back - I always text him. Its funny as hell to me

Dave

When he can't get a sound he goes from zero to completly insanely enraged in about five seconds. First he smashes his amp into about 50 little peices, and we just kept playing. Then he ripped the strings off his mint '60s SG one by one. Zing! the tail piece goes flying across the room. Still, we don't even stop playing. Finally, he throws his SG across the room and storms out, closley folowed by the band director. We finally finished the tune and everyone just looks at me like "look what you made him do!". I shrugged my shoulders and went out side and found the guitard pouting while the director tried to talk some sence to him. I just went right up the the jerk off and said "Hey man, I unplugged your speaker wires as a joke, sorry you freaked out." The best part was how hard the band director started laughing. Now that's how you piss off a guitard.
Wow...you went to school with Pete Townshend in the 60's?

Sounds like BS to me

Teaching them about what certain guitar pick ups sound like and general guitar construction information (body wood) etc. ticks the few i've met off. they seem offended i know more about it than them.

When I start talking about modes and key changes and odd tempos I get deer in headlight looks from my lead guitarist. My keyboardist/singer, rhythm and drummer are like, ok... I kinda get you, but my lead is just like O_o. What's worse though is that he doesn't seemingly have any interest in learning more theory or anything, whereas the other 3 guys seem to.

i sometimes jam with a friend's band, and to annoy the guitarist i keep asking him what key he is playing in or if he could play in time.

"Can you play that once more with feeling... and dynamics... and don't speed up this time?"
