I guess I'm somewhere around 2000 but I know others have many, many more.

| | | At my church of 700 members I have been playing at least once, and usually 2 or 3 times a week for the past 10 years. With my fusion band, at least 20 times live. Recording as a session bassist 3 times. Recording with my church band twice. With various other bands as a sit-in, maybe about 10 gigs. I have actually done 3 weddings. Never played a solo gig yet, but hope to soon, once I get a good repertoire together. |

Shows/musicals...around 50 (shows...each one running on average about 2/3 weeks to 6 months)
Studio sessions...200
original bands.....40
Goddamn no wonder my wrists are sore and I thought it was from the mas....errr...massive bruise..yes...bruise.

or 60 total. 1988-1995, including three years
full time on the road, probably about 1000,
including 250 a year from mid-91 to mid-94.
1995-1998, nearly nothing - burnt out, played
fill in gigs maybe once every other month but
no regular band. Jan 1, 1999 (yeah, that was
the date I played the 1st gig) to present, played
about 50 gigs in 99, 42 in 2000, on pace to do
about 50 in 2001 - 3x to 4x a month. So about
1200 gigs in 19 years with 1000 of them in a 5 or
6 year span in the early 90's. I like the 40 or 50
a year pace much better, 'cuz having a full time
job means the bills are paid and I can buy bass
gear!

But now we have "restructured" (kicked out a guitarist, and now getting new guy up to speed). So we haven't played in 3 weeks. Should be ready by end of september w/ a 2+ hour set. After that, probably back to normal. 1-3 times a week average.

Sounds like you've had a very fruitfull musical life.
I'd love to jam in Ireland. My grandparents raised sheep in County Gallway and someday I'm going there to visit.
My family name is Conroy.
