If you have an active light bulb remember to unscrew it when you're not using it so you don't drain the battery.

I know flourescents don't get much respect here on TB but I kind of like them; at least they don't suck. I mean they do what they need to as a bulb but I know people say they are boring and just always do the 60 cps thing. I wonder if they were in a different fixture if people would appreciate them more.

So I was using my new lightbulb in a club last night, then out of no where, it just making a humming sound. So i changed to my spare lightbulb and found that my primary lightbulb is not a lightbulb at all, it was a bass...

I want to get into some effects for my lightbulb - was going to get an envelop filter but there are so many choices- white, brown, padded, window, self sticking, coloured- any advice? I've also heard that there is a tendency for some of them to overheat or even actually burn up if they are left on the lightbulb for too long - any experience with this?
Also wondered just how dark some of these will make my lightbulb, I'd like to colour the light but still leave some of the original signal in the mix so I'm thinking of a yellow, window self-sticking envelope filter - what do you think?
BTW -my lightbulb is a GE 100watt monofilament, copper, rewound by my tech and with the new custom gold plated lugs on the bayonet- pearl finish of course.

Do active lightbulbs sound better than passive ones?

Passive lightbulbs... wait, what?

Also, to be consistent with Google today:
Does anybody know what a Taurus light-bulb is? WHY do you have to step on it? If Geddy Lee and Chris Squire used it, it must be good, right?

Do split-filaments always send fatter light than single-filaments?
