I met my wife of 16 years(+8 years of on again/off again fireworks)at a friend's gig; I had been in & out of bands w/the same crowd, so I kinda qualify. Cool, because getting girls was a large reason for learning to play(though admittedly 'getting girls' & getting married are FAR from the same thing...

Yup.

I met her at an open mike, and watched her play trombone for about 5 minutes before i decided i needed to talk to her....

Doesn't half help when your wifes a muso...

She understands why I come in at 4am after a gig and knows i'm not chasing other women around. :-)

Yup! Met my wife at a small gig with my old band in North Jersey about 7 years ago. She had gone to high school with the singer and guitarist.
Became friends quickly, and started dating about 2 years later.
Our 3rd wedding anniversary is on May 30th, and she's 8 mo's pregnant with our first child right now.

My wife was one of hundreds of people at a gig. She saw me, but I did not see her. She was there with a bunch of girls she worked with. The girls she worked with dated a couple of the guys I worked with. I was actually introduced to her about a year later when I went out to the bar after work with the guys I worked with. Their girlfriends also went to the bar after work, and my wife went with them.

Convoluted, I know.

I met my ex wife at a gig back in 1980. I wish I could relive that night and never asked her out. I spent 11 miserable years with her and she was the meanest and nastiest person I ever knew. I have met many women over the years at gigs who I dated for long periods of time but never married them.

I'm not sure why, but I find that statement totally hilarious.

That's how I met my wife. The funny thing is that now she doesn't like me to play out.

I first met my gf at a gig. She was the singer in my friends band and I had only met her very briefly. Then I went off and got married. Then I ogt divorced.

After the divorce I went back to my friend who were still playing dodgeball every Sunday (something that I actually had started). While there I was more formally introduced to Keighley. We started dating about a month after that.

Flashback - 1981

Living on the road (musical vagabonds), going from town to town all across the Western US. Ended up in South Lake Tahoe. Prettiest girl I'd ever seen shows up at the gig, and smiles at me like I've never been smiled-at before. She was 18, and I immediately fell in love. Married her three months later. That was 28 years ago, and we're still together, happier than ever. Plus, she's let me buy/sell whatever gear I've wanted all this time. Amazing woman - I'm a lucky man!

I did in March 1978.

The band was a 4 piece country rock outfit by the name of Dawson. The venue was Chaplins in Denver, CO.

She was a cocktail waitress and it was St. Patricks Day. There were at least 350 people in the place and it legally only held about 175. I couldn't get to the bar from the stage when I was on break but she managed to get a drink for me.

I took her to breakfast after the show at iHop and really impressed her with the big wad of bills in my wallet. We had just been paid, all in singles, so I looked like a good "catch" I guess.

The rest is history, over 32 years worth................

15 years ago, I got a call to do a pick-up gig by a guitar player who got in a fight and fired his bassist. No rehearsal, we just showed up and played a 3 piece blues gig (the guitar player is big into SRV). This beautiful woman came up and started requesting a bunch of different classic songs (like "American Woman"). I told her we'd play something for her if she gave me her number. Fast forward, we are married with two kids. Things are great, and I'm glad to say that she's my best friend.

When people ask how we met, I like to say, "we met at a bar."

Not me...

However a guitarist I gig with regularly met his wife at a gig, when her mum was dating the other guitarist in the band.

Two guitarist in the band - one married the mother, the other married the daughter... It's not as creepy as it sounds!
