this is from an article about Flaw, who just got back togther if anyone is interested

"Because they were low on money, the band ordered everything they needed to record from the Musician's Friend catalog, then returned it using the 30-day return policy. Musician's Friend found out about this and filed a lawsuit in California District Court since the band openly admitted to this fraud[citation needed]. "

i think thats hillarious haha

Oh yeah, it's funny how they're trying to rip off a company...

You do realize stuff like this ultimately makes companies like Musician's Friend have to charge more for their products, right?

Yep. It also makes the company less willing to take returns for legitimate reasons. Hard working, honest people get screwed in the end.

I like to piss people off with little bits of info like that whenever they brag about what they "got away with". I'll say, "Gee thanks, I probably helped pay for that since I shop there. No wait, I guess you should be thanking me since I paid for it?"

About the band in the article, I hope their record sucks, and I hope Musician's Friend gets every penny of money they are owed.

People who abuse the system usually get what's coming to them in the end. First of all, I've never heard of "Flaw" and probably never will, so that's a start.

This **** band should have stayed dead. If you haven't heard Flaw then you're lucky.

I must separate myself from some of you and say that I am really saddened by this. If enough people did this then I know that MF would stop their 30 day return policy which will hurt us the consumer. If you're gonna record, at least do it legitimately. I wouldn't be surprised if they complained when their fan base started pirating their music instead of buying it.

I don't find it funny at all.

I'd buy their CD, burn it, then return it to the store for a refund.

The way I'd burn a FLAW CD wouldn't allow me to return it for a refund.

There are ways to do a recording without stealing gear, or paying for it. You can buy time at a studio, you know.
