Patterned after MSNBC journalist/commentator Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person In The World" segment of his Countdown broadcasts, I created this "Worst Bassist In The World" roundup.

Not responsible for spewed coffee, copious utterances of *** or damage to the space-time continuum.

ROFL!!! I think I peed my pants a little.

I just sat here watching the video repeating "what the...". I'm all for anyone expressing themselves, but at what point did someone tell him "yeah dude, that sounds awesome!" ?

So you bash on Michael Anthony on his behaviour, not his playing skills?
That's sad

You might want to watch again, I got him on both the drunken stage antics and setting the art of bass playing back about 500,000 years too.

joey dimaio rocks dude!

awesome album : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1woxkraClg (for campy 80's crotch metal that is)

(even has orson welles voice over on one of the songs). also had this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDgWObdZ3WI

might not be the best bass solo piece, but is -far- from the worst. and i thought it was pretty sweet back when i was first starting to play.

a neighborhood friend of mine when i was growing up sent them a letter (guess this was around '84-'85) and joey sent him a handwritten response from the road - was a very cool, iirc had a foreign postmark.

Hold on a second, you're telling me you can't enjoy the bassists AND the video!? I thought the video was made in jest, I'm a manowar fan but I don't take it personally when someone makes fun of joey. It doesn't take a genius to tell that bass solo sounded like a guitar solo, I found it funny.

I think people really need to lighten up.

oh, i didn't take it seriously - i know phil he's a good egg, and shoot, joey certainly has made a career of setting himself up for parody and/or ribbing.

I'll take that as a great compliment!

Come to think of it, yeah, I was going for a Jello Biafra meets Keith Olbermann sort of thing there.
