Phil, please DO listen to the nay-sayers.
That way, you'll have more fuel for your surreal fire!
For the cretinous and sundry that think Phil is a talentless hack...why don't you go back to your fIeLdY blow-up doll?
I've known Phil for years, and I happen to think he's a peculiarly talented hack!
He can play rings around his emo-wannabe critics, and his thought patterns are not for the faint...he only hides in that old, bald, somewhat smelly carcass, waiting...waiting... |

c- | Nope, I agree that Billy Sheehan is actually a very good bassist, maybe a little over the top for me sometimes but at least he is a bonafide musician and bassist.
Actually, that was the absolute, last and final chapter of "Worst Bassist In The World", it just doesn;t get any worse than Bizarro Larry David, that's fer danged sure, NOBODY else in the whole world could suck that bad in my opinion!

Oh, and Bizarro Larry David - there's never gonna be any context that justifies him. Yeah, you don't top that in a hurry. But if you find it, I trust you'll share

With EVH's ego, having a root bassist like MA was perfect for the band, IMO. Plus, his added vocals did more for VH than any bass playing would have. Again, IMO
Billy Sheehan and Steve Vai seem pretty down to earth, and don't have NEAR the ego that the Van Halen brats have. I think that's the main reason the worked so well together. I saw DLR for the Skyscraper tour. Unfortunately, Sheehan wasn't there, but Vai was!
