My band played last night at LBG (Dallas). We were supposed to go on at 11:30, but didn't play until around 1. I can't stay sober that late.

I dance and jump around a lot on stage, and this venue has a pretty small, cramped one. So at one point I jump off the stage and start boogieing among the attendees (not many by this time of night). I hop back up a few moments later, only a 2 foot stage or so. . . . .

I didn't make it. BOOM. Face-plant.

Yeah, I'm that guy.

There is your problem..... you are drinking too early! Personally I don't drink much during show...I get too sloppy...I will smoke up though..for ME, it gets me focused on playing...again that's for me! You MUST learn your limitations when it comes to that sort of thing! At the end of the night, I will down a couple of 5 hour energy shots...helps with equipment move and the occasional impressed chic congratulatory sex!

This is the reason I don't drink on a paid gig.

I have to drink at least a couple of beers to loosen me up and reach my A game, but last night was a different story. I was at the right level at 11:30, but that hour and a half really worked against me.

ha ha, did you learn anything from this ordeal?

Very funny. This is the kind of thing that you just hide for a few years, then it turns into a great party story.

How did the acrobatics affect that section of the bass part?

Did you miss a couple of notes, or were you able to keep the groove going???

I've played at LBG...there is no room at all on that tiny stage...The diference here is we had slobberin drunk audiance members falling onto the stage, not slobberin drunk band members doing the falling...lol
