Ican't be in a band with a good looking woman. I would get fired for forgetting where I was at in a song.

It is with great sadness that I must report that our beloved violinist has removed herself from active performance, at this time. We've been quietly examining our options, for some time; part of the reason why I formed this club was wanting to celebrate her, before this day eventually came. I will not tantalize with pix of the candidates; we have it down to 3, and all are quite hot. Time will tell which one is the one, and the gig calendar dictates that the final big reveal in this thread could come as late as September. One of the candidates is actually relocating from another city, and is already performing in a similar situation. Another has a lead role in a production of "Bye Bye Birdie," to occupy her, for another month (IMHO, she is the hottest of the 3; smokin'). The third is actually a better violinist, and a friend of the one who has left us. If it works, in the acoustic format (a de facto test for a lot of our doings), then we'll name her, and move forward, with the big reveal coming more quickly. In all scenarios, I pledge to maintain a justification for my presence here, in this club.

I feel for you, and mourn the loss for all subscribers of this thread.

I'd say go with what the band needs but be sure to post pictures of the auditions.

Sorry to hear you're losing such a great frontwoman, but at least it sounds like you've got some great options for a new one. Hope the transition is smooth.

Her greatness still lies in her potential, but she has to make some big alterations, in her life, in order to truly tap that potential. As one who has gotten quite close to her, all that I can do for now is let that out (her issues do not need to be aired) and wish her well. I have vowed to never play the limited edition Warwick with this band again, unless she's next to me.

That said, I'm optimistic and excited about what lies ahead. "Red" will help us, in the near term, and we'll be alright, by Labor Day, if not before. If there are any important and worthy updates about the violinist, I'll pass 'em along. Thanks for the sympathy and encouragement. There's a younger, prettier, more talented, more, professional, less-baggage-laden crop to consider.

Take our erstwhile violinist, add 5 years of seasoning, electrify and amplify:

The Pink Floyd stuff sounded otherworldly good, and she delivered a White Rabbit that was very well-received, at our regular Sunday afternoon wine bar gig. She's the quick-fix, among the 3 finalists to be our new gal up front, since she is local, has the calendar, is the only one of the 3 with instrumental skills, and is basically what I describe, above the pic. None of the bad issues of she who was, either. We had a blast, and she's as cool as hell.

Meanwhile, one last blast from the past, from one of her final shows. I never saw her look more beautiful, when playing with us.

Her exhaustion was apparent, to those of us who know her. Since choosing to make her exit, she seems unburdened, and it looks good on her (if FB is any indicator). We've wished her well.

Less than a week in the band, and the new gal already has 3 acoustic gigs under her belt. Yes, there is a learning curve, and yes, guitard (being a hairdresser) is working on pumping up the hot factor (the bod is already there). We have not been taking too many pix, just yet, but have a full band gig, in a week, where we'll basically announce her to the world.
