I wonder what they put in the water at Utrecht, The Netherlands, that causes them to grow such beauties?

This may not entirely count because I'm playing guitar here and not bass, but . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_annUzn2l4

Yes, the lead singer really is that tall, and she's not wearing heels. The back up singers are pretty short.

That video was taken at the end-of-year party for our roller derby league. Those gals are all skaters. Here's another view of the lead singer and me. Her derby name is "Ruth Enasia". So, at the end of the video, people were not booing; they were shouting, "Ruuuth! Ruuuuth!"

This is her guesting with a cover band I play guitar for:

When the singers are this cute, we let the "bass" rules slide here at IBAHSB.

Hmmmm...I disagree, eli. We'll let this one slide, but let's also remember all of the cliches about guitards and women.

Not exactly; I do not wield dictatorial powers, or have TB mod authority. I've merely been one to follow through on my vision.

The respect is appreciated, however, and I am grateful for that, on this Thanksgiving Day, here in the States.

When I anchored CAS#6, about three years ago, I took an awful lot of heat, and it is gratifying to see how that has morphed into understanding and respect. On this day of traditional observance, it is gratifying to see that my efforts at establishing a TB tradition appear to be successful.

I'm thankful for the wonderful ladies whom I have worked with, musically, in the past few years. Some are still dear friends, while others have moved onward, and do not look back. Yes, there will always be that miniscule scar on my heart from a certain violinist, who carved her nickname on the door to my emotional inner sanctum, just like a few past romances have done (albeit more fully). Her ultimate successor has turned into quite the joy to be around, and work with. It's very gratifying to work with folks who are hungry to improve their own skills, and the band's lot.
