There is truth to these time-honored sayings. "Hot singerbabe" is thus an objective term. This thread was begun to separate our bandmates from our audience, as far as the whole "Chicks at Shows" thing is concerned. While there are some genuine stunners involved with those designated as charter members (initial or honorary) of this club (myself included), it's really all about visually celebrating those with whom we work, and might otherwise bed, if not for the working relationship. Of course, the working relationship, in and of itself, is not necessarily an inhibitor .
Let those who criticize say what they will. The dominant component of their output is jealousy. An update of this club's roster is long overdue, on my part, but, given how things have evolved, it may be time to make it self-service. I have no intention of continuing this thread, in a Part 2, when we reach page 50. That is a ball for someone else to carry. It is enough that I have remained at the helm of Chicks at Shows (despite a declared intention to let someone else spearhead it), which has been languishing, lately.
Enjoy and honor those around you. Never hesitate to express appreciation, when you can, and when it is truly warranted. Life is already short enough, and we may never pass this way again (no apologies to Seals & Croft). Instead of insulting those for trying to promote or augment the beauty around themselves, try doing the same, within your own realm. Make the world a better place. | Well said, plank. I hope someone else will pick up your torch and uphold the vision of this thread. Properly.

Last night our HSB had to go home after the first set. She's had a nasty cold and like the trooper she is, she showed up anyway and when she tried to sing, she opened her mouth and no sound came out but a couple squeaks. We just dropped most of her songs and sang the ones we could without her.
By the third set we were pretty down, we were playing like we were tired and just wanted to get it over with. There wasn't much of the crowd left, maybe 40 people where we typically have over 100 at this point, in this bar. Two songs into the set, the front doors swing open and a continuous stream of SMOKING HOT BABES flows into the bar. Like 20 of 'em. Maybe four guys in the group. It's moments like these that make me believe in God. We were right in the middle of "the Middle" which I'm always complaining about cause I hate it and it's for the younger set and we typically draw an older crowd that likes the 60's and 70's stuff we usually play. This group LOVED it. As they were walking through the door they were already playing air guitar and singing along. The guys went to the bar, the chicks to came to the dance floor and immediately started bumping and grinding against each other and the band instantly WOKE THE F*** UP. I cranked the lows on my amp (cause we know that's what the chicks want) and stepped up into the front line (where our HSB normally stands) to get a better view of the dance floor.
The next song on the list was "Poker Face". Clearly none of us guys was gonna sing that one, so we would have just skipped it entirely. I said into the mic "We need a Lady Gaga up here" and they chicks went apeshit. One of 'em came up - and did a fantastic job. After that song she asked our Lead Guitard if her friend could join her, they looked through our song list and chose "When Will I Be Loved". I absolutely LOVE this song, and the two of them just knocked it out of the park. The crowd totally lost it and it turned into one of the happiest moments I've ever had on stage. I punched my keyboard player and handed him my point n' shoot and this was the only decent picture he got:
I honestly wanted to get their numbers to call 'em as backups if our HSB is ever sick again, but they all left before we were done. Turned out it was a "drunk bus" and they were all on there way to some mystery destination. As quickly as they had appeared, they were gone.

I seriously wish they'd stuck around for more. Our normal HSB does an incredible job on Piece of My Heart - I would have loved to hear either of these two attempt that one. I bet it would have killed.

You'd think a woman could set her purse down in a place like this....

I did vocals on one verse, too, hence the mic. The setlist ended up being completely awesome, the kind of super-cheesy songs I wish I could play all the time.
Zombie (Cranberries)
Be My Lover (La Bouche)
It's My Life (Dr. Alban)
No Limit (2 Unlimited)
Ona Tańczy Dla Mnie (Weekend)
Ai Se Eu Te Pego (Michel Teló)
Last Christmas (Wham)
Hope to get some performance photos, too... The girl holding the mic was Pippi Longstocking, and the three in the back were all Minne Mouse. I was Shrek, of course.

It was on the feast day of St. Nicholas (December 6) and two days before the gig she asked me to dress like Santa, since I already have a beard. Two days wasn't much time, so we settled on "bad Santa".
