Years ago, I am thinking 1996, I traded a 1977 Fender Precision bass for a new Rickenbacker 4003 bass. Well I have sort of regretted doing that. Not that the Rick is bad or that the P bass was good. It is just there is a lot of history with me and that bass. Anyhow a few weeks ago I saw that bass on sale at my local music store. So I bought it back!
I have bought and sold many basses over the years but this is one of the few I regretted selling.
Happy ending! |

Squier p-bass, MIJ, 1983, great sound, quality made (better than some of the Fenders of that year), anyway sold it in 1990 and regretted it. Found it on line 2yrs ago and picked it up, cleaned it and what a sound.
Oh btw, just got a 1977 Fender P-bass, maple neck and natural body. ($700)...what a deal huh.

Here is how I knew it was my guitar. 1) Years ago I left it in a car truck in winter. The thick polyester finish shattered. So I refinished it myself. It was an okay refin, but not professional. 2) When I bought the bass it had a cigarette burn on near the first tuner. I had a friend professionally refinish it, but it was still slightly noticeable. You really have to look in the right light to see it. |

...
Congrats on your find, though! How'd you know it was yours?

I still have my first bass (Aria Pro), my high school car (1980 Firebird Formula thus my user name), my first motorcycle (1975 z50) and my first wife. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
