I had that audition

That first originals audition I was busting a nut to learn everything about music theory is over ... and I'm still alive, just

They were keen to get started when I arrived but the 2nd guitar/vocalist wasn't there. We played the songs they gave me without vocals.

They were happy I could play the songs with minimal errors and hit the ground running.

The 2nd guitar arrived and we jammed the 2 songs again. Then they just jammed the rest of their songs with me for the next 2 and a half hours, telling me how they go beforehand. That was fun.

"This one is in the Key of B, just hang there and you'll be good" came up too.

They've got a few more guys to try out and i don't think they'll choose me in the end, but it was a fun experience all the same and I picked up a few lessons experience teaches.

Sounds good! I just went through the same thing, first originals audition. Except I didn't get to hear any of the songs in advance.

We're rooting for you!

Rootin' for ya!

Sometimes the "better technically" don't get selected due to personality conflicts and/or ego size. Since they "jammed" with you for that long....you might get a 2nd call...

In my 30+ years of bands, the ones that don't get called back get told to pack up real quick(like after a few songs or one set worth of material). You did VERY good IMHO.
