I have done it. Stepping blindly from the fretless into the world of the six
string. I have crossed over to the dark side. I will purchase an
acoustic guitar. Worse yet, I sold a bass to buy it. What was I thinking?
1. a guitar has frets, how hard can it be?
2. thought I was buying an acoustic BASS guitar
3. looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing nitro
4. tired of hearing "Are you the sound guy?" (pre-gig)
5. now I can go to open mic night without fear of rejection
6. it will lower my suck per string ratio
7. it's a piccolo bass . . . with two extra strings
8. tired of hearing "Are you the sound guy?" (post-gig)
9. now people will say that I play "awesome" instead of "busy"
10. my wife asked "how many bases do you NEED?"

I am soooo out of touch with the bass world (maybe just people in general). I thought the whole suck per string was pretty funny. The awesome v. busy was something I threw in at the last minute as filler.
Well, at least vegaas is on my side. (I'm kind of new here, is this a good thing?)

I still need to become a supporting member. Memo to self, do this in the next month. I did however purchase and shirt and hat. Maybe once they arrive I take a pic of myself with them on, become a member and then use that as my avatar
Ok rambling, but loved your list. Especially the 6 and 9. |

Sell out

'guitar', these are merely alto six string basses.
These are designed primarily so one can practice
pocket filling grooves and whompy power chords while enjoying the beach, or campus on a sunny day or whatever.
Personally, I use a 12 string alto bass to exercise my arthritic fingers, but that is the total extent of the relationship. There is no other reason for the existence of such instruments.
