I know we rag on drummers but... this guy is the greatest.

Even with all this showmanship he STAYS IN TIME!!! You can tell he spent a lot of time in the drum line at school.

I don't think I could face the crowd during a gig. I'd be watching the drummer.

Headsets? Sparkley yellow?!

What is going on here?

You're right, that drummer is fantastic, but I wouldn't go to this show if it was free.

I'll admit I was ready to stop watching when I found out it it was "Sharp Dressed Man" played by a cheesy cover band, but just a few seconds watching the drummer I couldn't stop watching and waiting to see what he'd do next.

That's how Chris Farley would have played if he was a drummer.

I've had drummers that do none of that and still couldn't keep time.

I've work for a sound company and we did a corporate gig at Christmas in 2008 and this was the band. You should see this guy in person. Simply astounding. And one of the nicest guys I've ever worked with. Modern Drummer (I believe) did an article on him a few years ago. His name is Steve I think.

They have different color suits for their shows-I like the red the best! The bands name is Rick K and the All Nighters. They played at my county fair several times, and since I usually have an exhibit there I've seen them a bunch. I talked to them a few times-really cool group of guys!

I asked them about the suits because if you notice, the drummer rarely ever gets caught up in his jacket. He showed me how it was custom made by a lady for that purpose-*lots* of work in that.
As for playing while doing the monkey thing, if you stare long enough you'll notice he only does it on simple straight stuff-I saw that and was seriously trying to figure out how I could so that for those boring bass line song . And yep those are all drumline moves .

It's really cool in the show when the singer goes up and interacts with the drummer. At one point he steals a stick and starts hitting drums, which of course the drummer gets mad at....it progress to the two of them playing on the same kit, and the singer does fine on keeping the time . They have several different shows they'll do but that's usually somewhere in there.

They also hire a brass/sax section when they come down here, the full effect is awesome .

And did I mention they were nice guys? I think the bass player was happy to have someone notice him LOL.

The only way that drummer could be cooler is if he drummed with Samurai swords instead of sticks.

These guys have got it going on. Don't like the suits? Don't like the show-off drummer? Well, wedding and corporate clients sure do. I'll bet these guys are each taking home at least $500.00 a night. DJ's have only taken over the corporate/wedding scene because backward-thinking bands and musicians have let them.

I love the rare occasion when a "band" thinks like "entertainers," which only makes sense since they are in the "entertaiment industry."

I wouldn't say that. I say more power to them and I would take and love this gig if it put bread on the table.
