I love my drummer

..in the musical way of course. We play together for 25 years now and it's still a blast!Survived a guitarist OD'ing, a singer going insane in the biblical sense of the word, various keyboarders getting lost in MIDI hell and ohter assorted atrocities.

I played with other drummers too but i think i can play with my buddy being deaf.

So here's one up to you Freddo, for the next 25 years!

cheers,

Martin

I love my drummer musically. Wish he's shut the hell up every now and then though. Then again I'll give him a pass on his personality since I'm now dating his ex-girlfriend...

Then why don't you marry him?!?

Sorry, had to do that. Congrats! Having a good drummer (or guitarist, vocalist, keyboardist, ukulelist(?), etc.) is a good thing.

I love my drummer too!!

We've only been playing together since June, and the kid is only 23 but he is the best thing that has happened to my playing in the past 5 years!!

So much so that the manager of the bar we play is like, "Dan you play so much better when Christian is on drums!". Haha!!

Everything just clicks.

Pee Wee too funny. I know what you mean about having good drummer. I have found it so hard to find the right one that doesn't over play and isn't too loud.

I have been playing with the same drummer for 10 years. Actually, I am in two bands. One is a bluegrass band for over 30 years. (aging myself)

The other is a blues and rock band with same 5 members for 10 years. I am blessed that these are friends I have known in the music community and we all grew up together in different bands.

Now we are older in our 50's I think we are the few who survived all these years. Play couple of times a month and still lovin it.

Where's the "Like" button when you need it? Congrats, man. I have been playing with my drummer for almost 6 years now; we have ditched the rest of the band to do a drum/bass improv-jazz style thing and it truly satisfies my soul.

I hope to be lucky enough to reach the 25 year mark, as you have done.

our drummer still has a lot to learn(as the rest of us) but his chops are growing and I'm starting to understand him better. his improvement makes playing together an even better experience.

i gotta say, lately, I've grown into drummers. very often the drummer is the member of a band that impresses me more. I can do without a guitarist with awesome chops, but I can't live w/o a solid drummer

Our drummer just joined us three weeks ago and I love him already! Hoping to be saying that years from now, too.

The really good drummers (not just talking playing ability) are the ones to keep around despite all the other misfortunes that inevitably happen. The guys you really get along with and find a mutual groove with.
It is great when you know one or two.
I'm luck enough to know two (one's my brother in law).

A positive drummer thread... how kewl!

The other side of the fence is that I played in a band with a great bass player on and off for thirty years until I moved out of town for my day job. Now that I'm back in town I'd love to gig with him again. It was like we were joined at the hips musically. As a drummer I appreciated it as much as you bass players do. (And no, Im not far enough along on the instrument to call myself a bassist yet. I'm a student of the instrument.)

Awesome!

I have to show some drummer love as well. We have been playing together for 11 years now. What a roller coaster! Looks like we had yet another project fall apart just yesterday. I hope this isn't the end of a great run. On the other hand. If we are able start something new this would be our 5 project.

17 years with my drummer. Like a brother to me, I know exactly when he's going to hit what. He's also handy with a soldering iron and multimeter, fixes my leads and effects boxes when necessary.

I love my drummer too. Been playing with him for close to 10 years now. He really fits with the rest of us. He's also an excellent auto mechanic. Oh and he's also my son-in-law.

We have only been playing together for the past 2 years but I hope it will last as long as some of the others I was reading about

My old band had a drummer like that. Everything was solid when he was around. We still get together every now and then to jam but it's not what it used to be. Congrats tho man.

I was in a band with a drummer like that for 10 years. I used to call him Fed Ex, because he was on time, all the time. I never once had to turn around on stage to give him that "where are you and what the heck are you doing" look, because this guy was always right where he needed to be.
