I never beat that Bucket Head song on Guitar Hero II

This was over a year ago. I was still getting the basics down on bass, so I would switch between bass and guitar hero, and keep switching between the two. When I was tired of music theory, guitar hero, when the song was too tough, bass. Eventually, I beat guitar hero 1, and was most of the way though Guitar hero II. Eventually I came to that Bucket Head song.

I kept trying to beat that damn bucket head song on guitar hero II on expert. It was the only song I couldn't beat. I couldn't rely on star power either, because any experience guitar hero player knows that the solo in that song goes well through your star power and you run out and then you die.

After a while of playing, I decided okay maybe I need to try practice mode in guitar hero II, obviously practicing the Bucket head song as I wanted to beat it.

After a few days of no success I realized something. This was retarded. I was practicing how to play a fake guitar with 5 buttons on a set list that I couldn't pick. So that is when I stopped.

Anyhow, I still love playing (Rock band now...It is nice to playing with the non musicians).

I absolutely do not regret playing guitar hero at all. I hate to admit it, but it did teach me to use hammer ons and pull offs more, and it did get me used to some finger independence. But most of all, it opened me up to a load of songs I had never heard before (Texas Flood, God zilla, Frankenstien, Message in a Bottle). Knowing the bands that played those definately helps in normal conversation :-).

I agree on the finger independence. GH helps me more with that than real bass does. It actually helps me with a whole host of things that come from my Cerebral Palsy.

I think guitar hero is an excellent exercise for keeping proper time, and I recommend it to quite a few drummers that I know.

I skipped guitar hero due to what you stated above, it seemed silly to play plastic guitars when I get more enjoyment out of the real thing. I did buy rock band though, and am quite happy about it. I get to play drums and my friends get to wrestle with plastic guitars, everybody wins!

i think it's a great tool for putting **** on all your guitarist mates that get carved up by drummers and bass players.

Bass guitar for GH and RB

Hi there

I saw your question about getting a bass guitar for GH. This might be what you are after.

It just came out and is called the widow maker bass guitar for GH and RB.
