So, I just got back from playing a biker rally gig. It was freaking huge. We had not one. Not two. But three, count them, THREE whole bikers show up. Heh. Cold drizzly weather and bike rallys must not mix so well. It was a flat rate gig and we got paid the same for only playing an hour. Works for me. It was just amusing to play in Bricktown (downtown entertainment district in OKC) for a big parking lot full of nothing.

Have two more gigs coming up in the next couple weeks with the same venue. Wonder if they are going to be any more well attended?

Yeah, the weather sucked yesterday and today!!! I'm sure more people will show for the next ones. At least you got paid a flat rate!

Maybe the bikers are saving up for Rocklahoma?

Over on this side of the state, more of the same cruddy weather. You want a good biker venue in OKC, look into Spinnuzi's. They always have a lot there. We had a ton of them for an outdoor event we played there last fall.

Funny thing about that gig was that the venue/promoter neglected to get the noise permit so we had to play exteremly quietly. That location just nixed all the dates they had scheduled outside till June, so I lost the next two gigs there. I picked up some more in June so it will all even out in the end. Just puts off the payday that much longer. Oh well.

I acutally work a "day" job right next to Spinozzi's. My office is right behind (north) those largish office buildings just north of 63rd and east of Harvey. They have pretty good burgers for not too much scratch there. I wind up eating one about once a week on average.

PS: my personal myspace page is www.myspace.com/lukemullenix . I'm a bit of a musical whore. I play with anyone who'll throw money at me, so I've got a varied schedule (in terms of musical genre) listed on there. Feel free to drop in and heckle me anytime.

B-NoteCowboy: I just noticed you're playing Liquidz along with Let's Zepplin tonight. Dang! If I had known earlier, I could have gotten a huge group together to see you guys. Oh well... maybe next time.

Where are some of the places to play original rock music (stuff like- SuperGiant, Left Brain) in OKC? My Albuquerque musician friends have had a hard time booking stuff out there.
