Why Not?

The bathroom tends to be a very small room (unless it's got a bath, and even then...). It's got a comfy seat for playing.

So......................

Heck, late at night, I can go in there and play my solidbodys acoustic and it sounds beautiful. That's right: Just go in there to play. We keep it real clean in there, so why not?

So much for open-minded audiences. That story makes me mad. Glad you survived the ordeal. I love goth-metal, but hate the self-righteous vibe I get from some of the fan-boys/girls. Well, from the girls it's a little more interesting, 'cause, well....

And that's how their narcissistic clique repaid you?! Rocking the WC while getting dissed for four (4) hours?

Actually, I had a similar experience in a DC club, but at least we didn't play in the bathroom.

Great story, once you get over the, uh, fumes.

Believe you me, Karma's a...right. You'll go far with your good "sportsmanship." The haters won't.

Even if you didn't mean it that way, you served up a good slab of deadpan bass-humor. Props.

The Beatles played the Hollywood Bowl, you played the toilet bowl.

If there wasn't a bath-tub then I suppose you guys played unplugged? Play any cover songs? You know, "Jumpin' Jack Flush", "The shower must go on", etc?

That's punny as ****! I'm not sure what "****" really is but it's good.

Bass humor: You got it pegged. Spinal Tap. Can you dig it? Talk about mudflaps!

I tried to play in the bathroom, but my bass wouldn't fit in the cubicle.

Get an Asbury Bass! It's 18" and cheap.

Here's One For You

Sympathy for the Plunger.

I mean, think about it, that's one rough job.

All joking aside, but still joking in the middle, I've wondered about that tiny bass. It's fretless, has--what--rubber-band-like strings, and costs less than $300.

But with an 18" scale plus fretlessness...it must be an absolute nightmare to play with even a smidgen of intonation. Does anyone know if that's right? Because if it's playable without messing up what we already know from our 34" etc. basses, then I'm getting one.

It'll work in tight cubicles, plus I can take it with me on plain old non-bass-related flights: It'll fit in the overhead and I won't even get dirty looks. Hmmm, maybe a folding bass is the answer. One with hinges here, there, and (IDK quite how), you can unfold the thang and have a full-scale bass after you deplane.

But I'm still curious if the Asbury is worth the trouble.

C'mon, I'm serious; I want to know.

There's nothing like taking a dump to some chords.
