So......................
Heck, late at night, I can go in there and play my solidbodys acoustic and it sounds beautiful. That's right: Just go in there to play. We keep it real clean in there, so why not?

That story makes me mad. Glad you survived the ordeal. I love goth-metal, but hate the self-righteous vibe I get from some of the fan-boys/girls. Well, from the girls it's a little more interesting, 'cause, well....

Actually, I had a similar experience in a DC club, but at least we didn't play in the bathroom.
Great story, once you get over the, uh, fumes.
Believe you me, Karma's a...right. You'll go far with your good "sportsmanship." The haters won't.

| | | The Beatles played the Hollywood Bowl, you played the toilet bowl.
If there wasn't a bath-tub then I suppose you guys played unplugged? Play any cover songs? You know, "Jumpin' Jack Flush", "The shower must go on", etc?

Bass humor: You got it pegged. Spinal Tap. Can you dig it? Talk about mudflaps!

But with an 18" scale plus fretlessness...it must be an absolute nightmare to play with even a smidgen of intonation. Does anyone know if that's right? Because if it's playable without messing up what we already know from our 34" etc. basses, then I'm getting one.
It'll work in tight cubicles, plus I can take it with me on plain old non-bass-related flights: It'll fit in the overhead and I won't even get dirty looks. Hmmm, maybe a folding bass is the answer. One with hinges here, there, and (IDK quite how), you can unfold the thang and have a full-scale bass after you deplane.
But I'm still curious if the Asbury is worth the trouble.
C'mon, I'm serious; I want to know.
