I Popped My Musical Cherry Tonight!

Sign in to disble this ad
After about 15 months in the woodshed--and 3 or 4 months of lessons--I finally got up on stage. In public. And played.

AND I DIDN'T EMBARASS MYSELF

Three blues numbers--Man of My Word (Johnny Adams), Funky Mama (Lou Donaldson), and Stuff You Gotta Watch (Muddy Waters). I managed to keep it together, walk where appropriate, and even lead the guitars into a turnaround that they missed (too busy soloing to count the measures on an oddball 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-4-5-5#-5 verse).

Gee, I can actually do this. Amazing.

Way to go -- can't beat the feeling.

BTW, you may experience some spotting in the days following the gig. If it persists or becomes heavy, please contact your gynecologist right away.

Quit now, before you get addicted to sex, drugs and R&R. Take up a nice instrument, like banjo, and none of that will happen. Much safer

That's Great! Good for you! Especially good that you kept the guitards together.

Hmmmm...isn't that what we're supposed to do?

Congrats!
You'll learn more per hour playing live or jamming than practicing (still gotta practice, though!), and have more fun.

So, whens the next gig?

Good work on keeping your timing and your cool. You have to
think for them sometimes. Just keep the groove moving.

Well done!
