OK, this was dumb. I was at band and using a borrowed bass with heavy gauge strings. I decided to give myself some calluses with superglue, which a lot of people do.
Shame I glued my index and middle finger together...
Playing bass with your two main fingers glued shut wasn't fun.

| | Yeah, I've got the moves like Jagger. | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: G.R. MI | | | Superglue sets up quickly in an alkaline environment. If you try it again, sprinkle a bit of baking soda on the wet glue, it'll set up almost instantly.

Due to wrist damage, I had to play 'normal' righty bass and so I had no calluses on my fretting hand,

| | | | you played righty? i think my fretting hand has more calluses anyways. i say just get a bigger amp, turn waaaay up & play a little lighter.
and after a thourough check i do have more calluses on my fretting hand.
i would be a root note chunker if i tried lefty!

Well that's what I get for not remembering I took my bass home after the last band practice.
Being a lefty sucks...

| | | | i think for me it would be easier to play with the low string at the bottom & switch my scales around than to try to go lefty.
