Add your own "why in the H did I sale or trade that bass or amp?" story-I have a number of regrets after unloading 30 of 32 basses I've owned/played over as many years-Amps 1 left out of like 15? So,here's a FEW bass guitars and amps I frequently lament selling, just for the "H" of it.
1978 Guild B-301 (white)
1991 Heartfield DR 4 (mystic white)
1984 Rickenbacker 4001 Deluxe (Fireglo)
2002 Fender Precision w/rose USA (sunburst)
1983 Fender Elite 1 Precision (black)
1999 DeArmond Ashbory (black) my favorite of the 3 I've owned.
2006 Epiphone EB3 (h.cherry)
2006 Epiphone Ripper -bought another recently! All's well now.
2006 Fender Precision (Mex) natural/rose
1983 Steinberger L-2
1991 Polytone Mini Brute IV combo amp
1990 Gallien-Krueger MB 200 combo amp
2004? Yorkville BM 50 combo amp
1983 Carvin PB 150 head

Geez, did the same. 1st one was a Gretsch white falcon, dude paid for it with a bad check, then there was a guitar designed by the master of classical guitar and hand built (my son had a damn fit over that one), traded it for pa speakers), a Randy Rhodes 1 (but I recovered that one) and last but not least was a Fender Mustang short scale bass. What the heck makes us do that? But I have two that will never get sold, traded, or given away. Enjoyed your posting.

I almost always buy things that I won't want to sell later. Then again, I don't own 30 basses either. I don't see the need for that.

Never sold a bass. I might have to get around to that now I'm up to 8. The Krappy pisses me off every time I look at it but it sounds neat and I haven't gigged it yet on account of ungiggable neckdive.

I've bought and sold quite a few basses and amps, and regret buying most of them. But I only regret selling two - my Traynor YBA-200 II tube head, and my Traben Torrent bass.

But when I was starting out, I didn't have anybody to advise me on what to buy and what not to buy, and I hadn't yet discovered TB - so I kept searching for the perfect axe and amp for me. Of course, being inexperienced, I'd buy something that seemed like an improvement in one regard, only to discover (right after the return policy expires) that it's a step back in another.

Now I know what works for me: P-basses and Mesa amps. Rock on!

The only bass I ever regretted selling was an early Ibanez. But I recently got a SG500 that is pretty much the exact same thing so now I'm happy.

Had a sweet plying Stingray 5 string, that I customized I really want back, not because what I have isnt cutting it, but because it was just that damn cool. Def the best action of any bass i ever had.

Damnned... I just had a thought for the same type of thread. Here's what I posted...

Quote:
EBS Fafner head and an SWR Triad cabinet. Sounded great, but I needed cash and some space in my place. I should've sold the Carvin Head and the Aguilar 4x10 instead.... (~slaps head~) It was one of those things where as I was taking the money, I was thinking "Oh, no! This is a mistake!" It was. I've had other combos for heads and cabinets, and haven't found one that sounds quite as good yet.

I also sold an ART Ultrafoot Midi controller foot pedal for $20. It was missing the power supply. Again, I needed cash, and was moving and needed space. New, it was something like $150, but it actually rose in price after they stopped making them. Some guy called just after I sold it saying that he wouldn't feel good about giving me anything less then $100 for it. Dumb...
