We recently had an election in Canada and a reporter asked the incumbent Prime Minister at a produce stand if he were a fruit what would he be? So totally for fun and too take some of this seriousness off of the upcoming Presidential election - If Obama and McCain were basses what would they be and why?

McCain would be an old bass that is old... very old, one that will probably be dead in 4 years and have to be replaced by a female bass that is completely incapable of being a bass.

McCain - 18th century carved upright. old as hell, unplayable, only people who like him are rich snobs. he's still worth a fortune.
Obama - Classic jazz bass. smooth, clean, nothing he cant do, accessible to everyone.

Obama: A squier P-bass (Affinity Series). Seems like a good deal on the surface. However, when you finally get it, you realize it's not the best. Still gets the job done.

Looks really good, has all the right features, but when you pick it up and look at it, there are all kinds of issues they didn't really tell you about. It does things later that weren't advertised.
McCain: used B.C. Rich Warlock. Beat all to hell, not really very desirable, nobody wanted it before but it's a leftover and all there is.

Can we now lock this thread and move along?
