Cook and Clifford actually don't call their band Creedence Cleawarter Revivial. They call it Creedence Clearwater Revisted. However, the initials still are CCR. I guess maybe it's a way to get around some legal things.

The band was formed in 1995 with Cook saying, "We never really had any intention of playing for the public, but a friend wanted to promote a couple of concerts. We got talked into it, but didn't know how it would go over."

The band has toured North America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Asia. A 1997 legal injunction by John Fogerty forced the group to change its name to Cosmo's Factory, but the courts later ruled in Cook's and Clifford's favor.

IIRC, Elliot Easton (from The Cars) played lead git on at least one tour. I missed it when they came thru because I had a gig that night-would have paid to see 'em though.

No Ma'am, I'm not as talented as the other guitarist in the band. That's why he gets six strings and I only get four.

I seen the early-2000's version of The Little River Band at the Sternwheel Regatta in Charleston. I don't know if there were any original members or not but, I do have to say, it was hands down one of the best shows I've EVER seen. Amazing vocal/harmonies, and musicianship.

I saw a show last year that was promoted has having The Turtles (featuring Flo and Eddie), Grass Roots, The Association, The Buckinghams and Mark Lindsay from Paul Revere and The Raiders.

There was a backing band for each act.

The reason The Turtles were billed as "featuring Flo and Eddie" is because Mark Volman (Flo) and Howard Kaylan (Eddie) were the only former Turtles who performed.

The Grass Roots had one original member and another guy who played bass and sang.

The Association appeared with 3 of it's members

The Buckinghams only had 2 original members.

It was a good show but it bothered me that there were only a couple of members of each band who performed. I think it would have been more accurate to promote as featuring members of the groups who were represented instead.

It makes me wonder, if Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley left KISS and Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer continued on with a different guitarist and bass player (assuming Gene would allow this )would people still consider them to be KISS? Definitely not.

At what point is it right to simply no longer carry on the name of a band? They obviously do it in order to sell tickets but I guess buyer beware.

Well, in a few years, your're gonna see this happening with KISS. I seen an interview were Gene and Paul stated that eventually they (GENE SIMMONS AND PAUL STANLEY) WILL BE REPLACED, and KISS will just keep goin' & goin'. They're running the band just like Walt Disney, or something. So, KISS really is gonna be a corporation with 4 employees.
I admit it, they're my favorite band of all time, but I just don't see this working out. But, usually when you question Gene & Paul, they just somehow prove you wrong.

Little Walter was touring in the 50s, and came across another guy calling himself Little Walter. Now the real LW was one crazy mofo.... just walked up to the fake LW, pulled out a gun and shot him in the head. I guess being a fake is not all it's cracked up to be.....

Gene and Paul said they will still, more or less, run the show, even though they won't be playing. Weird, huh?
