iPhone slap bass

I've had the Pocket Guitar app on my phone for a while now. Finger tapping is really easy, strumming is a little harder but isn't too bad. However, slapping and popping has eluded me. Anyone accomplished this yet? How about harmonics?

You can slap it, but try hitting it harder! I'm sure you'll hear something "pop".

Actually, I use Pocket Guitar for the notes to tune my bass.

Harmonics... Hmm... Well, it might be possible with a glass of water and running the iPhone around the rim in circles. But you would need a little bit of grip, so make sure you have a rubber iPhone protector.

Lol - I loved that episode where MacGuyver used the harmonics from wine glasses to open that lock. Freakin DIY ninja!

That's a pic of my girlfriend's 10yr old daughter's phone. It still works perfectly. It was cracked, so service was cancelled and it was passed on for gaming purposes. Since then she's repeatedly dropped it, and even threw it against a metal bedframe in an attempt to get an upgrade to an i4 with full service, which she knows isn't going to happen. Kids.

Wish I could post this voicemail from her that I have saved. I'm going to play it back for her when she's older...

"Momma, I want to tell you something about this phone. Do you think we could put some of the new games I got on it on the computer? Cause I really think we should trade in this phone. See I got mad, and then I threw it, and another scratch came right across it. And now there's another scratch that came RIGHT across it. I got mad for some reason, I didn't think it'd break because it's got that thing on it, so I threw on the bed and it hit the metal part...it made a loud noise and whenever I took the thing off I felt it, I felt a little glass come off. I really think we should trade in this phone. You said we could trade in the broken one and get the new one! Or I could get a different one. That won't be as broken. I'm just asking you. I'm scared I might actually - I might actually be able to take off this thing on it, 'cause it ain't gettin very comfortable on my hand! I was wondering if maybe we could just get a new one with it. K. Love you. Bye."

ROFL!

Nah, trying to teach her the concept of money and the consequences of not taking care of her stuff. She took the otterbox off, and since then I've seen her drop it at least 20 times. Often on concrete/asphalt. The usual response is "haha, oops". So yeah, no new screen for her...
