Got a sub gig. 99% of the stuff is classic bar band stuff. I've played all this stuff a million times, as a drummer. Fixin' to head to the woodshed. |

| | LICENSED TO KILL - any song I play! | | | | | COOL! It sounds like you are already familiar with the arrangements, chord changes, start and stop of the songs, etc. That's the biggest hurdle, unless it's some Chris Squire, John Entwistle type of bass!
Sounds like the perfect gig...
Have FUN

Have fun doin it.

| | | | I can email you the original shet music for Gimie 3 Steps on monday if you want.
I've done this 50 songs in 14 days thing and I recommend to keep it simple and not learn every fill and riff and keep it tight with the drummer. I also recommend writing the basic progressions out in Nashville numbers on you cheat sheet. This help me out since they changed about 1/3 of the songs to different keys which could have been a pita if not for the Nashville numbers system. |

I have about 150 songs in my 3 cover bands at your disposal if any are the same. |

I just moved from doing only originals for many years too trying to get my foot in the door with the local cover scene. I'm finally old/patient enough to actually sit down and learn 40 tunes.

The structures of songs are usually the hardest hurdle for me. Most bass lines are simplistic, you just need to know where the parts begin & end. Since you already know the structure and you have played the drum lines, it will be much easier for you to do the bass line to it. Basically 4 songs a day - get to it & good luck! |

I had to learn 36 in a week. Luckily, I'd played guitar on a few in the past and was at least musically familiar with most of them. The videos are great to at least get you in the right spots for the tunes.
