I've got a gig with MARK KNOPFLER!

Yip.. MK is playing at a big multi-artist charity show in my home city in February, and I've been asked to play in the house band.

As a Knopfler / Straits fan since I was a lad, I'm excited beyond belief.

I'm trying to be cool about it, but it's MK, so... bugger it.

Whoah whoah whoah. I've been a fan since I was a kid.
Very few people can bring magic out of instruments.
I'd probably faint before I started playing.

That is so awesome, congratulations. Love all his stuff and played a bunch of it over the years. The Bug is still on our play list and gets one of the biggest audience responses.

Now I can say, "Hey I read a post by a guy on TB who had a gig coming up with Mark Knopfler, and that TB guy even probably read my post, where I said, 'Hey I read a post by a guy on TB...' but I couldn't totally be sure unless he quoted my quoted post and replied, which would be really cool. I'll keep checking to see if he does."

Just being funny. DUDE that is AMAZING. Naturally, I would crap my pants and forget which string is E, or which string is the low one, or how to tune with a tuner, etc etc.

CONGRATS!

Great! Mark, though underrated, is one of the great players IMHO. Enjoy.
