I've got a week to put together a "band."

There's a battle of the bands coming up in a month or so. Not too big of a deal, a month is plenty of time to learn whatever handful of songs to play. The problem is that auditions are next week, and between school and jobs, we would be lucky to get three practices in. I am confident in my abilities and I've played with the guitarist before, I know that he is capable. But I've never played with the drummer or vocalist before, and as far as their resume goes, I hope they were being modest.

We're getting together at my house, to the displeasure of my mother, tomorrow (Or today, depending on your concept of tomorrow) to see what we can whip up. We'll probably be playing some '90s rock covers of some sort. I figure that if I can get everyone to keep serious, we could have our audition songs down by next week.

This will be my first band experience, and hopefully my first gig. It's a local battle of the bands, so if we can play in time and in key, we'll likely have half of the other groups beat.

We'll see what happens.

Good luck on that, make sure you bring as many friends as you can for the battle, it is usually the band with the most "fans" present that gets first place :P
