Sign in to disble this ad
after 3 months of not having an upright. ( Money problems. no rental) I decided to try out for my schools jazz band on electric. The teacher asked me if i could play upright, I was very hesistent (SP?). Some how i nailed the audition on the schools very nice korean/german bass. even got complimented for my Ideas in improv

If I could write a book-
Blues in Bb
Several latin grooves
Trading fours W/piano player

is what the audition consisted of. Any of you guys have victory storys that you least expected?

Congratulations! No recent victory stories, here. But good for you for being able to switch to upright for an audition and still carry the day.

Also, good on you for showing your improv skills. You're going to have a lot of fun in that jazz band, I bet.
